Parish Council, 12 SEPTEMBER 2018 meeting.
The Parish Council met on Wednesday, 12 September. Here is a summary:
Speed Watch: We are still looking for a safe place on Station Road to monitor speeds. Speed Awareness Machines and Speed Indication Devices were discussed. A 50% grant towards the cost of these machines can be obtained from the Parish Partnership Fund.
Drainage: There are still problems with the stormwater drains by the Village Hall and further down Big Row.
Final Push: Councillor Ashe congratulated the Hall Committee on a fantastic job. He proposed that the Parish Council go ahead with the requested £3,700 donation to complete the project. Other councillors agreed.
Restoring the Play Area: The “Let’s Play!” Committee has been set up to help manage this fund-raising project. Anyone interested in joining the committee, please let the Clerk know. If you want to know more about the play area, contact letsplaygeldeston@gmail.com
Green Project: Councillor Norman sent thanks to Jolyon Oxley and Green Project volunteers for their help this year in clearing ragwort from the field.
Next meeting: Wednesday, 14 November 2018 at 7:30pm.
